“Walking with God”

We have been dealing with the subject of Covenant of late and have found it to be a term that carries value and weight with God.

The word Covenant means a very strong bond.  It means being in agreement with.  It means being in a relationship.

The Bible says, in 2 Chronicles 16:9 -   For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.  What does this mean?  It means God is looking for people who are willing to walk with Him so He can bless them and He can be glorified in their lives!

Abraham was in covenant with God.  Abraham had no axes to grind.  He did not accuse God or blame God for Sarah’s barrenness.  Abraham was God’s friend and vice versa.  Being in covenant with God means being a friend of God.  A friend is one you can share things with.  You do not judge them.  You accept them as they are.  They are confident around you and can open up about your feelings.  That is the kind of relationship we are to have with God.  It is awesome!

Yes, God is Awesome!  Can we consider God “lucky” to have us as His friends?  NO!  On the contrary, we are the fortunate and blessed ones to be able to say, Through Jesus Christ God’s Son, I have peace with God.  I have a relationship with Him.  It is a relationship of love and respect.  We respect and fear our loving Heavenly Father.  Yes, fear!  Reverential trust!  It is humbling to know we can walk with God, the Creator of our universe.  He is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Glory.  (Eph. 1.17)

It is truly amazing that we can live our earthly lives being connected to the Most High God and know He loves us and will direct our paths.

Proverbs 3:5 – In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths.  The key is to walk in humility with the Lord our God, checking in with Him (praying) in all we do.  May the Lord be glorified in your life as you walk in covenant agreement with Him.
