From Sunday May 1, 2011 “What is due to Grace?”

SCRIPTURE:   Eph 1:1-14  Today we will deal with the Word of God says about The Grace of God.    What Grace is and what Grace is not!  The Assurance that Grace brings. Who is going to heaven and who is going to Hell?  Can a believer lose his salvation? GRACE DEFINED  grace=CHARIS  a) that which affords joy, pleasure, delight, sweetness, charm, loveliness: grace of speech  2) good will, loving-kindness, favour.  God’s Special Treasure  Eph 2:8 – for by grace are you saved through faith  PAUL’S PRAYER FOR THE EPHESIANS   That God would give them the spirit of revelation in the knowledge of Jesus Christ  He prayed they might know the HOPE OF HIS CALLING.  On Wednesday night I taught that our calling is a heavenly calling and has eternal implications.(Eph 2:7). Paul reveals the PURPOSE OF THE MYSTERY OF THE CHURCH in 3:10 – to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places.  we learned the Death, Burial and Resurrection of Jesus Christ affected even the Heavenly realms.  In Job 1 – we find Satan roaming around and even appearing in Heaven before God’s Thrones with the other sons of God, the angels and heavenly creatures.

But in Revelation 12:8, 9, 10  – Now salvation has come.  Jesus said in John 12:31 before His death – Now is the judgment of this world.  Now is the prince of this world cast out!  That leads us to believe Satan no longer appears in the Presence of God as he did in Job 1.  Rev. 12 – interpretations:  We find in Rev. 12 great purposes of God revealed through Israel.  She is depicted in Rev 12 as the Woman.  Israel was the womb through which the Son of God, the Messiah the Savior of all mankind would come.  Woman is Israel

Twelve Stars 12 tribes of Israel The Dragon – Satan The Male Child – Christ. Caught up to God – the Ascension of Jesus Christ

Woman fled into the wilderness.  Spotlight of God’s plan is now moved away from Israel temporarily and moves now to the church.  As blindness in part has happened to Israel until her Messiah is revealed from Heaven.  Makes war with her seed:  We are that seed.  The seed of the woman in Rev. 12 is Christ’s seed.  He shall see his seed and prolong his days and the pleasure of the Lord will prosper in his hand.Isa 53.  Now you know why you have such trouble.  You and I don’t wrestle against flesh and blood if we did Rocky would take care of him, but we wrestle against principalities powers spiritual wickedness in high places against the rulers of the darkness of this world.  Now the Church the redeemed the company of  twice born men has come into being. All heaven is watching us.  PAUL:  spectacle = theatron = theater.  The Bible says even the angels desire to look into this great salvation.  Heaven is watching.  The angels of God in heaven rejoice over one sinner that repents.  Now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church TO THE PRINCIPALITIES AND POWERS IN THE HEAVENLY PLACES.  Satan doesn’t understand us. Satan didn’t understand Job.

He doesn’t realize that when we experience the love and forgiveness of God we realize we are eternally His and he will never leave us nor forsake us. JOHN 14:16 – Jesus said, And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever

Jesus said, Mt 28:20   Lo, I am with you always, even until the end of the world.  GOD IS NOT CAPRICIOUS – not led by caprice, whim or erratic.  He doesn’t alternate between kindness and cruelty. CAN YOU LOSE YOUR SALVATION?  God will not drop the ball nor change His mind about you.  YOU ARE ETERNALLY SECURE IN HIM. YOU ARE SAVED FOREVER Gal 2.21 – I do not frustrate the grace of God  Frustrate=ath-e-te’-o=despise, cast off.

Heb 6:4-12 – Speaks of apostates (persons who totally cast off their faith and depart from the faith.  It is impossible: not impossible with God, God is always looking for opportunities to forgive repentant hearts.  This scripture says a person who has totally turned his back on God may find it impossible to find repentance in his heart because he has become so overcome by deceit and sin.

Mt. 24:45-51 – this servant fell into unbelief. Began to beat the servants and to eat and drink with the drunken.  This apostate shall find his portion with the hypocrites.

Grace does not mean God excuses sin.  HE DOES NOT!  Not in believers nor in unbelievers.  Sin must be confronted, confessed and repented of or it will meet us at the judgment seat of Christ.  Sinning Believers will suffer loss and have little or no reward or involvement in the kingdom of God.  (See I COR 3)   Paul exhorts:  I beseech you that you walk worthy of the vocation with which you are called.Who is going to Hell?  Rev. 21:8.  Steer clear of sin.  It will dull your sensitivity and conscience and level of confidence in saving grace!
